THE COVE

You know what's grinding my gears today? Dolphin slaughter. Well it's not so much as grinding my gears, as making me sick, and making me angry.
Never in my life have I seen such horror. It's pretty much the most sickening, disgusting event I've ever witnessed. It's up there on a par with the Turkish genocide of Armenia and the Nazi's genocide of the Jews.
These people, if we can call them that, who commit these atrocities are some of the most horrible vile people that have ever walked the face of this earth. I urge you, please! All of you. Watch the movie. See it with your own eyes, and sign the petition. This film is the new zeitgeist, and it's an issue that needs support NOW!
thanks for reading, please watch the film

Back to the Future
You know what grinds my gears? Bullies! Yes Bullies! You know what? Just because your bigger then somebody doesn't give you the right to push them around, especially when you're wrong. You were small once too you know. And pushing the little guy around, when he is in no way doing you any harm is quite frankly, appalling. If you have a problem with someone, why not discuss that issue with them?

Flight 666 - Iron Maiden
Well, yesterday was Maiden Day. The day when Iron Maiden’s documentary about the most adventurous tour in Rock History came out.
For those of you who don’t know... Beginning in 2008, Iron Maiden not only attempted, but succeeded in flying themselves, their crew, their backline, the support act (Lauren Harris) and her band and crew (including me), around the world performing 23 concerts in 21 cities on over 5 continents playing to half a million people! You may be thinking...Nothing wrong or hard about that. To the contrary. It was all done in 45 days. And, it was all done on their own plane! AND that plane was flown by, none other than, Bruce Dickinson! Iron Maiden frontman and commercial pilot for Astraeus Airlines.
On Monday night (20/04/09), Grind the Gears was present at the Premier screening of this event at the Odeon, in London Kensington. I got my fifteen minutes (or more like 15 seconds) of fame with three cameos in the film.
The film was great. Footage was shown of all songs played on the Somewhere Back in Time World Tour 2008 (1st leg). The movie is not just one big concert. It gives insight into life on the road with of one of the biggest rock bands of all time. The film was directed by Sam Dunn and Scott McFadden of Heavy Metal - A Headbangers Journey fame. I’m happy to say that although Maiden are normally very private with their backstage stuff and were very wary of having a film crew around them at pretty much all times, Sam and Scott have not delivered some kind of monster. It’s a good depiction of how it all really happened.
If you didn't get the chance to, go check the film out when it comes out on DVD, and let us know what you think. Grind the Gears can give you the inside scoop on the film and answer a lot of questions you may have as I experienced the tour first hand.
We hope you enjoy watching it as much as we did.
Take care!
